A six bedroom, Georgian townhouse in the centre of Perth.

Built in 1797 and fully restored in 2012, it is fabulously located in a Georgian crescent overlooking the North Inch park and the River Tay. The Concert Hall, shops and restaurants of Perth are just a few minutes’ walk away.  There are two reserved parking spaces on Atholl Place itself for exclusive use of our guests.

Sit down with the newspapers in the formal drawing room, check your emails in the study, settle down in front of TV in the family room or soak up the evening sun in the garden room.  For those who prefer more energetic activities, try your hand at pool or table tennis. The large fitted kitchen leads directly into the dining room with seating for 12.   The garden to the rear is fully enclosed and safe for children.

Atholl Place is a Category B listed terrace in the centre of Perth. It is fabulously located in a Georgian crescent overlooking the North Inch park and River Tay. The Concert Hall, shops and restaurants of Perth are just a few minutes walk away. There are two reserved parking spaces on Atholl Place itself for exclusive use of our guests.

The house was built in 1797 during the reign of George III and when Perth was leading the way in Scottish architecture. Edinburgh’s new town, for example, is largely modelled on buildings in Perth.

The house was completely restored to its former glory in 2012 and now contains all modern conveniences, whilst still retaining its original period features. It has 4,500 square feet of living space over four floors.

There are six bedrooms, three bathrooms and an additional cloakroom. A separate utility area has a washing machine and dryer. The garden to the rear is fully enclosed and safe for children.

The family room has comfortable sofas and a flatscreen LED TV with Freeview channels. There is a ipod docking station, DAB radio and a small library of books. The window looks across the North Inch and River Tay.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a Range oven and hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher.

The shops, restaurants and pubs of the city centre are all within easy walking distance.

Particular highlights are:

  • Historic Georgian townhouse
  • Many original features preserved
  • Two parking spaces
  • Moments away from shops and restaurants
  • Private garden
  • 4 floors, 6 bedrooms

Atholl Place was built in 1797.  That was:

  • During the reign of King George III and whilst William Pitt the Younger was prime minister of Great Britain;
  • The same year the composer Franz Schubert and the novelist Mary Shelley were born;
  • One year before Edward Jenner invented the first vaccination;
  • Eight years after the French revolution began;
  • 21 years after the American declaration of independence;
  • In the year of the inauguration of John Adams, second president of the United States;
  • Two years before Napolean Bonaparte came to power in France;
  • Eight years before the battle of Trafalgar and 18 years before Waterloo;
  • Abraham Lincoln was born 12 years later;
  • The Charge of the Light Brigade would not take place for another 57 years; and
  • Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species” was published 62 years later.
