The Monastery Tower has a private location on the top floor of St Benedict’s Abbey, a Victorian monastery that has been converted into luxury apartments, now known as the Highland Club.
Stylishly decorated throughout, the tower is a wonderful romantic getaway. The open plan living / dining area has a series of beautiful stone arch windows providing panoramic and unrestricted views of the loch, mountains and the Abbey itself.
Take the stairs up past the original quatrefoil windows to the master bedroom, with a wrought iron king size bed, and en-suite bathroom.
The Monastery Tower is a stunning and unique one bedroom apartment in the converted tower of a Victorian monastery. It has a private location on the top floor of St Benedict’s Abbey, a Victorian monastery that has been converted into luxury apartments, now known as the Highland Club. The Abbey is just outside Fort Augustus on the shores of Loch Ness.
In many of the apartments, and from the Abbey grounds itself, you will get some wonderful views of Loch Ness but the Monastery Tower offers truly unrestricted views over the trees and right across the water. If you look at pictures of the Abbey, in many of them you will see a tall, square tower that stands above the rest of the building – this is where the Monastery Tower apartment is located.
Stylishly decorated throughout, this property makes a wonderful romantic getaway. The flat is situated at the top of the grand stone staircase off the historc cloisters. The open plan living / dining area has a series of beautiful stone arch windows around this unique room bringing in much light and providing panoramic views of the loch, mountains and the Abbey itself. There is freesat, a flat screen TV, bluetooth speakers and wifi throughout the apartment.
The fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen area features lovely granite work surfaces, gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The dining area has an oak dining table and four chairs.
On the floor above, the romantic master bedroom features a very comfortable wrought iron king size bed, with windows overlooking the cloisters and a flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. There is plentiful storage with a built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers. Located next to the bedroom, the bathroom with its original quatrefoil windows and lovely views has a powerful built-in shower over the bath. There is also a second toilet located on the lower floor.
Staying in the Monastery Tower is more than just having a stunning holiday apartment. You also have full access to the Abbey’s grounds and facilities, including a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and tennis court. Relax in the Highland Club lounge with its full-size snooker table and library of books or play croquet on the shores of Loch Ness – there is something for everyone. The Monastery Tower may not be suitable for the less able as reached by a number of stairs (but the view is worth it!).
